SHE ROLLED OVER!

penny went to the doctor on monday, and we found out that she is now 25 3/4" and 14 1/2 pounds.  she's in the 90th percentile for height and 75th for weight, and the doctor asked us if she could take penny home with her.  i'm pretty sure this means we're doing something right.
we started out the week in the park on a gorgeous sunday:

and introduced her to her bumbo seat, which she loves:

and her bouncer, which she also loves!

she is now dissatisfied with lying down, and wants to be up and looking around all the time.  she's getting super great at grabbing and holding on to things, and every time we go out into the neighborhood she makes new friends!

momentous occasions

two big things happened to our family recently - one of them last week, and one of them today.
penny would like to tell you about both of them in photos.

firstly, that's alex's comic book penny is oooh-ing over in her new hat.  this is a Big Deal.  it's gorgeous, it's funny, and we can't wait to find out how it ends.











the second thing is pretty self explanatory.

the circus!

we took penny to the circus, and she really seemed to enjoy it!  there was only one point where it got too loud, and alex took her out into the hall to calm down - the rest of the time she watched and slept.

of course, since she's my daughter, she also got to do this:

we found what must have been the items that didn't sell at someone's stoop sale as we were coming home yesterday - we picked up a brand new car seat, bouncer, and a bag of clothes in penny's size!  the universe has smiled upon us.  included in the bag of clothes was a pink furry bucket hat; as i now lovingly refer to it, her "pimp hat". photos will surely follow.


and now, a special feature, just for jodi, who claims that you cannot take a bad picture of penny and that somehow i am cheating by having an extra cute baby.  i shall name the feature "for every one of these..."
