We started off the day with an ultrasound appointment, where we got to see the New Kid snoozing on his hands in a most adorable way, yawn and stretch! The tech let us know that she sees a full head of hair, and predicts a birth weight of 7 lbs, 10 oz (Penny was 7lbs 7 oz for comparison purposes). He is definitely a little kickboxer, and I am enjoying watching the very dramatic rippling that goes on in my abdomen.
According to the website that emails me every week, he is now the size of a large jicama, so, you know...there you are.

31 weeks!
We're moving right along here, getting bigger and bigger. Penny can now reach light switches, grab a loaf of bread from on top of the microwave and make her own sandwiches. I can walk upwards of a block and a half before becomimg utterly exhausted. I had my first night of zero sleep due to the New Kid's gymnastics, and last night Penny fell asleep at 6pm. She is probably going to be three inches taller in next week's photo.

30 weeks!
Last night we had Grandma Ronnie, Papa Dan and Aunt Jodi over for a Mother's Day celebration, and Penny got to stay up waaaaaay past her bedtime. We are lucky she's such a well behaved kid, or it could have been a disaster.
This morning Alex had to be at work early (don't feel bad for him, he had to interview lots of celebrities he's excited about) so Penny was back on photographer duties. She's doing a great job!

we have created a monster!
this afternoon while i napped, penny and alex rearranged her room a bit. her bed is now accessible from both sides and she can no longer injure herself on our inexplicably sharp walls while in it. she also can reach her lamp much more easily. about 15 minutes after alex put her to bed, she wandered into our room with her stuffed animal under her arm and told us that she wasn't tired. i told her she could read quietly in bed. over the course of an hour we checked in on her, and she was sitting up in bed with her legs under the covers reading a different book each time. at 9, i told her it was time to turn out the light, and she told us she would when she finished the book she was reading, which she did. oh boy. she's definitely our kid!

28 weeks!
Oh my gosh you guys, I'm 28 weeks pregnant. We're going from monthly doctor appointments to bi-weekly, and at today's appointment, Alex and I spent a great deal of the waiting room time watching the New Kid moving around. He is now the size of an eggplant!
