milo's birthday (observed)

over the weekend, we had a first birthday party for milo in the park.  we started off the day at home with a big breakfast

then we loaded up and headed to the park!  we were lent a rolling cooler and wagon to transport all of our goodies, and when we found a spot we set up the chips and dips in the wagon.  milo bellied up to the Chip Wagon and polished off 3/4 of a bag of BBQ potato chips.

lots of people came!  the weather was perfect!  we sang happy birthday and then there were cupcakes!

we thought it couldn't get any better, but then two park rangers showed up and a whole bunch of five and six year olds got to pet a horse!

at home, milo got to open a whole bunch of presents, and we had a lovely family visit.

i cannot believe that my tiny baby boy is turning one tomorrow!

Let me just preface this by saying that one week ago, Milo could not walk at all. Now he can do this.
