penny has been making up lots of songs lately, and she's really starting to get the hang of rhyme schemes and carrying a theme through. we suspect this has to do with the programming she's been watching - dora and such are basically advertisements for mnemonic tunes.
over the weekend, she was doing her best to sing "take me out to the ballgame", and she really has no context for this song at all. my favorite line that she came up with was "buy me some crackers and peanuts, Jack!".
this morning is rainy and miserable. we put the rain cover on penny's stroller to get her to camp, and while she stays nice and dry, it is really hard to hear her. she asked me to stop so she could say something to alex, and he asked her "oh! are you singing 'happy birthday' to me?". at the top of her tiny lungs she shouted "NO! I AM SINGING ABOUT FRIENDSHIP!"
