Milo has decided that diaper changing time requires at least two headbands.

milo's first running joke!
tonight we were all super sleepy. penny fell asleep in our bed, and milo and i fell asleep on the couch, and we all did not wake up until alex told us it was dinnertime. in fact, it was pretty late for dinner, so we all groggily sat at the table and woke up while we were eating our ravioli (thanks for making dinner, alex!).
we talked about the shapes that penny and milo were eating (stars, hearts, rocket ships, teddy bears, dinosaurs...) and in the middle of that, milo took his fork, pointed it at the window and said "yummy sky!" we all told him "no, don't eat the sky!" and he got it and thought it was hilarious. in between bites, he kept alternating between "yummy sky!" and "yum yum yum" and it was super hilarious. he then branched out into other things not to eat - the tissue box, a book, the plates & cups, and all of the members of our family, but he kept coming back to the sky, which was so funny to all of us.

weekend catch up on wednesday
hello there! we had a super busy weekend, and very few pictures to show for it. we started out on saturday at the circus. it is sandor's last year on the road, and he has always been so kind and generous to penny (and me!) that i don't know what the blue unit (my old home) is going to be like without him. this was the second time seeing this show for us, and we had just as much fun the second time around - also, we got to see it with milo this time, which was nice! he had been pointing to the posters for a week leading up to the circus and making appropriate animal noises, so it was super fun to watch his reaction to the elephants, tigers and doggies!
after the show, we picked up some essentials, because next week we are going on VACATION. more on that later.
on sunday, penny and i got pedicures, because VACATION. it was penny's first professional pedicure, and she decided that she really likes it and we should do it all the time. i agree, but this is an expensive thing to decide to like at 6 years old. i told her it can be a special tret. but she now has color changing nail polish on her toes, and they added a bonus sparkle topcoat, so i totally get why she loves it.
after our pedis, i took the kids to a staff concert at penny's school. it was super fun! lots of folk music, lots of dancing, and penny's best friend was there, so they glommed on to each other, and i got to sit in the back with milo and enjoy singing along.
since my last post, milo and i have moved where we spend our weekdays - i am no longer in midtown, but in chelsea/the flatiron, and milo is at a different branch of the same daycare that fortuitously opened about a month before my move. he is having a great time
but we miss mr. matt and the rest of our columbus circle gang terribly.
tonight, parent teacher conferences!

| 20 years ago, sandor spent many weeks trying to teach me how to do a back handspring. no luck. |

valentine's day inside
it is three degrees here in brooklyn, so we have been inside for the past two days. we had a playdate with the trautmanns (we love you, trautmanns!) and alex and i had a lovely romantic candle lit dinner after both kids were asleep (at 7:30! amazing!). milo is having a small hitting, hair pulling thing that we are working through, but for the most part the kids get along, and read with each other, and we've managed to make it two whole days with no tv (for the kids at least :) ).
i realized it's been a while since i took out the good camera, and as it turns out, penny is 16? 17 years old?
milo, while still a baby, can now talk and is dancing pretty much constantly.
they're both keepers, i think.
happy valentine's day, all! our hearts are totally warmer than the weather outside, and we hope yours is, too.

| also, she's getting three molars, so we should cut her some slack. |

18 months of Milo!
Milo is a year and a half old today. He is learning about a word a day, he sings and dances all the time, and he loves to help put things away. Today at daycare, he decided independently that everyone needed their water, so he pushed a chair over to the counter so he could reach, then distributed everyone's sippy cups one by one. Whenever he sees or hears an emergency vehicle, he points and asks "Happening?" On our commute into the city, he says "Daddy, bye bye. Penny, bye bye. Mr. Matt" and on our way home, we discuss how we said goodbye to Penny and Daddy in the morning, but we are on our way to see them. If he decides you need a hug, but you do not want one, he will sneak around behind you and put his head on your shoulder.
Happy year and a half, buddy! We love you to bits.
